Thanks to Letters from Mouse for playing my “Human Research Roadmap (Remix),” from Wormhole World’s A Picture of Good Health Volume 3.2, on Mad Wasp Radio. The episode also features a great set from artist of the month Cpektir. Check it out below or on Mixcloud.

Coming soon: A Picture of Good Health Vol 3

I’m happy to once again contribute to Wormhole World’s compilation series A Picture of Good Health. Volume 3 comes out in two parts on July 14 as a digital release and CD. I’m on 3.2 with so many music friends and collaborators including Letters From Mouse, Toxic Chicken, Xqui, Whettman Chelmets, WIP, BoyCalledCrow, Geiger von Müller, Sound Effects Of Death And Horror, and Alan Morse Davies, to name just a few. Proceeds go to CALM, and pre-release is available now.

Yeah I Know It Sucks Retrophonica Review

As always, Yeah I Know It Sucks has made my giddy with their track-by-track review of Retrophonica – Aetheric Transmissions. They had this to say about my song “Metro Musix:”

“Things move on into a strange seductive time traveling zone, one in which an old school train rattles over the tracks and the landscape is presumably all made out of electronic memorability. You can hear the birthplace of drone, the early BBC synth basement experimentational vibes, the electric joyfulness of truly re innovating music as it had always existed before.”

Electronic Sound and ANTI: Music Review on Retrophonica

One more day til the release of Retrophonica – Aetheric Transmissions, and the reviews are rolling in. Electronic Sound Magazine (paywall) said of my contribution, “…the approach is deeply referential, evoking rich experimentation through tones, loops, and processed voices that feel like they could easily unravel messily.” And ANTI: Music Review writes, “Metro Musix by Elizabeth Joan Kelly is one of my favorites off the compilation, refining many of the elements typically pursued but adding her typical cataclysmic touch that becomes all the more riveting, and forbidden-sounding.” Read the full ANTI review here, and don’t forget to buy your copy of Retrophonica; proceeds benefit Delia Derbyshire Day!

Delia Derbyshire charity compilation

I’m so pleased to be on an upcoming charity compilation curated by John from Sound Effects Of Death And Horror (SEODAH) and released by Wormhole World. It features 13 artists who have joined together to celebrate the work of Delia Derbyshire, Wendy Carlos and other electronic pioneers, and proceeds will go to support Delia Derbyshire Day, a charity with the objectives of advancing the education of the public in music technology and the history and art of British electronic music via the archive and works of Delia Derbyshire.

Pre-orders will open on Friday 10 April when a lead track by ME! will be launched, and the album will be released on May 15.

There’s a nice write-up and the full track listing up on Louder Than War, check it out!
