This is fun–the newest Hypnagogue episode pairs up songs from the vast Hypnagogue database that have the same titles. Compare and contrast my “Departure” with Cryobiosis’s, along with seven other duos of name-matched songs. Plus, the music’s just good. Listen on the Hypnagogue website or below.

Interview on Parenthetical Recluse
Tyler Weaver had me on Parenthetical Recluse as his inaugural interview for a new series. Hear me ramble on about existential dread, Philip Glass, Earth, Wind & Fire, solo accordion free jazz, MAD MEN, and more (very on brand, right?). Read here, and a big thanks to Tyler for asking great questions, and for the kind words about my music.

Harm on Dark Train
Thank you to Kate for playing “Harm” on an absolutely thunderous episode of “Dark Train” on Warminster Community Radio. Catch it on Mixloud or below, and see the tracklist on Twitter.
Delia Derbyshire charity compilation

I’m so pleased to be on an upcoming charity compilation curated by John from Sound Effects Of Death And Horror (SEODAH) and released by Wormhole World. It features 13 artists who have joined together to celebrate the work of Delia Derbyshire, Wendy Carlos and other electronic pioneers, and proceeds will go to support Delia Derbyshire Day, a charity with the objectives of advancing the education of the public in music technology and the history and art of British electronic music via the archive and works of Delia Derbyshire.
Pre-orders will open on Friday 10 April when a lead track by ME! will be launched, and the album will be released on May 15.
There’s a nice write-up and the full track listing up on Louder Than War, check it out!
Support Artists on Bandcamp During Covid-19
This Friday, Bandcamp is waiving revenue shares to help support artists affected by COVID-19. As much as I’d love you to buy my music, my income isn’t dependent on it and I’d rather you join me in supporting artists who are hurting.
Looking for recommendations? Check out my Bandcamp collection & wishlist, and try especially to support artists who have had shows cancelled, or whose retail/service/gig economy/other day jobs have been cancelled or restricted by COVID-19.
As thanks, here are some Bandcamp yum codes for free downloads of Music for the DMV:

WFMU JA In The AM with John Allen
Thanks to John Allen for playing “Baleen Executioner” on his morning show JA In the AM today on WFMU! It’s a rousing mix, just as good for post-lunch sleepytime as it is for the start of the day. Take a listen on the WFMU website.
The Wire Review ❤️
I’m so, so honored to once again be reviewed in The Wire, the most essential of avant-garde music magazines. Dan Barrow says of Farewell, Doomed Planet!, “at its best, as on “Feral At Night”, “Exclusion Zone Earth, (Or, All Hail Chernobyl Wolves)” and the closer “Beau Travail”, Farewell recalls William Basinski if his source material was “Personal Jesus” era Depeche Mode.”
The Wire can be read online with a subscription through Exact Editions, or look for a print copy at your local bookstore/library etc.

Best ofs: Counterzine, An Earful, Houdini Mansions
First of all, big props to blogs who wait til the actual end of the year to make their year-end lists! I really appreciate being recognized on the following:
anearful Best Of 2019: Electronic: Farewell, Doomed Planet! “I can imagine watching the big blue marble disappear in the porthole while listening to her loopy melodicism and watery textures, which brought both Eno’s Apollo and David Torn’s guitar to mind.”
Houdini Mansions Favorite 100 Albums of 2019: Strategic Tape Reserve’s ShopLand World: Music for a Discovery Park of Miniature Supermarkets (including my track, “What Penumbras“) at no. 30
And “What Penumbras” also made it to no. 175 on Counterzine’s Top 200 Tracks of 2019, as listed on Twitter
